Untitled Document

QCBC has a separate and robust training system for Coxes, with your principle contact being the Senior Cox of the club, whose details may be found in the Committee page.

For novices who wish to learn how to cox, there are university meetings you must attend to register, at which point QCBC takes over and trains you. You will be moved around crews and given the chance to row so that you experience coxing from the other end. You will receive a pack when you start from the Uni., but another from QCBC as well. In it will be lots of information, but importantly a personal log book for you and the club to record your progress. As you become more proficient the club will upgrade your status from Novice to Experienced, allowing you to partake in a greater range of outings and cox for the first Eights. Some novice coxes may also progress to Senior Status, which puts you in great demand in the University and makes you a huge asset to the club.

Experienced coxes can apply to the Uni. for an instant-upgrade appropriate to their experience level. Contact the Senior Cox or President for details. Depending on your preference and experience you will be allocated a crew and/or crews.
