The 1837 Society is a registered charity whose aim is to promote the development of the students of The Queen's College Oxford through the provision of sports facilities. Originally founded in 1997 by old members of QCBC, The 1837 Society has significantly contributed towards the boat club in recent years.
The 1837 society also endeavours to keep old members more in touch with current events in QCBC, by means of a regular newsletter and old members' events; most recently a post-Eights cruise down the Isis, and a QCBC 175th anniversary dinner held at the Leander Club at Henley-on-Thames.
Current college members and old members alike are encouraged to support the society by applying for membership.
